Unique Vancouver elopement: Lisa + Dave
Lisa and Dave truly created a unique elopement in Vancouver! We photographed their engagement photos last year, fully expecting to photograph their wedding past June. But then Covid happened (booo!). At first the news hit hard, especially after planning for so long and with guests who planned to come from many different locations. But Lisa and Dave decided to keep their original date and get married in the company of their closest family.
Lisa included several things that referred to their original plan, such as having the first look on Granville Island, where their venue is. And such as keeping the beautiful jewel tones she had in mind for the theme in her bridal bouquet. All those things will still happen when the big party takes place, of course. 😉
And once the day was there, they were set on having a blast and going with the flow! One of my favourite moments was when they spontaneously danced at the docks on Granville Island, when a street musician played one of their favorite songs. And of course the forest ceremony, just incredibly beautiful and heartfelt. So special when Lisa’s mom walked her down the aisle and Dave’s face… heart full!
It’s a Vancouver perk to be able to take photos in an industrial environment, followed by deep forest and then ending your elopement with a dinner with city vibes. 😉 And it’s not because you have a smaller event, that you can’t take several hours and create a unique day!!
Thank you so much for having us on your intimate day Lisa and Dave! We can’t wait for next one!
