elopement in the snow

Elopement in the snow: Crystal + Sally

When Crystal and Sally first contacted us they had no idea they’d celebrate their elopement in the snow. We first chatted in January 2020 about their celebration that summer, but unfortunately the world had other plans. With everything shut down, it was impossible for the two of them to get married. Another postponement happened, but third time was the charm! Past Winter, Sally could fly over from Hong Kong to finally celebrate her and Crystal’s wedding!

Even at that time, there were some new restrictions, but with a small group of friends and family, they made it happen! And what a day it was! Jelger and I have been photographing in Stanley Park for years and we’ve NEVER seen snow like this! It was a gorgeous winter wonderland and the most beautiful sunny day. 🙂

But before starting portraits, we briefly joined Crystal and Sally at their hotel room, where they helped each other to get ready. I absolutely loved the atmosphere in the room. They were so ready for the day! And there’s something special about helping your partner get ready.

Next we ventured into the snow! This duo braved some COLD weather, but they were absolutely up for it. 🙂 Enjoy these photos in the Lost Lagoon area of Stanley Park.

For the ceremony at Ferguson Point, we were joined by family, friends and furry guest of honour: Timber! 😉 Sally’s family couldn’t be there in person, but they joined online and got to experience the beautiful ceremony in real time.

And at the end, we got to join the two of them for a few more freezing photos at the sea wall! 🙂

Thank you so much Crystal and Sally for having us as a part of your special day! And I really enjoyed seeing all your adventures in BC afterwards, hehe. Cheers to many more of those!
