Third Beach elopement: Jill + Chris

The Third Beach elopement of Jill and Chris makes me miss the summer! Warm summer evenings on the beach are the best! Especially when we get to photograph and witness a beautiful wedding ceremony.

This adventurous duo met in Australia while travelling and Chris, who is originally from Edinburgh, followed Jill back to Canada. Jill grew up in Edmonton, but the two of them live in Victoria now. With their love of camping and hiking, that seems like an excellent plan!

They decided on Vancouver to get married with just the two of them (and these two photographers as witnesses 😉 ). And because they like nature a lot, Stanley Park and specifically Third Beach was the perfect spot! Jill and Chris decided to have a first look before the ceremony, because they got ready separately. Jill’s taxi arrived late, which made the moment even more exciting for Chris, hehe. Good things come to those who wait! It all worked out perfectly (as it always does) and their first look was gorgeous.

We headed to the beach together and found a spot that provided some privacy. Because of the nice weather, we were definitely not alone, despite it being Tuesday. But there are always ways to carve out a little quiet spot and enjoy the ocean views.

After their heartfelt ceremony and photos on the beach, we headed to Gastown where the two of them had a romantic dinner reservation at DiBeppe, an Italian restaurant. And after taking a couple of photographs we left them to enjoy the rest of their evening.

PS: Can you believe Jill ordered her dress online just shortly before the wedding? Talking about being adventurous, hehe, I absolutely love the way the light played with it.
