Negar and Dominik’s wedding at LaStella Winery, Osoyoos, BC

Tuscany in Canada? We never saw it coming, and yet it exists. Glowing hills, endless rows of vines and deep-red grapes ripening in the late Summer sun. Everything reminded us of our trip through the Italian countryside. Negar and Dominik, being wine and Italy connoisseurs, chose a memorable location to celebrate their wedding: LaStella winery with its Tuscan-inspired villa.

On the morning of their wedding, Dominik surprised his groomsmen with funky socks, which he promptly requested to be worn in a legendary photo (too bad we can’t share it because the only attire worn were said socks, ties and boxers). Meanwhile Negar and her girls had a good time wearing matching robes and sharing stories.

Before the ceremony started, the glamorous couple had an amazing first look, which we featured in a separate blogpost. After a short walk through the wine stalks on the sandy hills overlooking Okanagan Lake the time had come for their big moment. Or rather moments, because they had both a civil and a traditional Persian ceremony with complete ‘sofreh’. Could the day get any better?

Apparently it could! The guests had hardly entered the reception tent when the party kicked off. Dinner wasn’t even served yet. During the celebration that lasted until deep in the night, a couple of guests surprised Negar by honoring the tradition of lifting the bride on a chair. And she partied on fearlessly.
