Cheekye Ranch wedding: Mellisa + Peter

Mellisa and Peter’s Cheekye Ranch wedding was the first wedding we photographed with a large wedding party since the beginning of the pandemic! Jelger and I loved experiencing a big outdoor celebration again. Just like in the good old days! 😉 And these two had to make and change so many plans, it’s fantastic that they ended up in Squamish and got to celebrate the entire weekend!

One of the great benefits of getting married at Cheekye Ranch is that your guests can camp there and that you can have a fun night the day before as well! Melissa told us she loves backpacking and camping, while Peter is more into glamping. Well, for the wedding the camping situation was definitely glamorous with a yurt for the two of them. 🙂 Several of their guests came with different types of tents and campers. It’s clear that the two of them planned everything with most of all their friends and family in mind. It truly was an experience and I’m sure everyone who attended thinks back fondly of their time together.

The wedding day was a hot one! The forest fires that happened in BC all summer definitely had an impact on the weather. They made everything feel extra toasty and smokey. And Peter just rocked his 3 piece suit during all of it! Very impressive. 😉 But the beautiful surrounding mountains peeked through the haze for this duo. Jelger and I were also excited about the forest location at Cheekye Ranch, which is gorgeous!

When I looked backed at these photos for writing this blog post, I almost felt a bit nostalgic. Hot Summer nights and big parties? Ah, can we have those all year round please?

Thank you so much for trusting us with your memories Melissa and Peter!! We had a blast!
