The entire wedding of Setareh and Eliar in Hart House Restaurant was fully planned and executed in 2 weeks! The two of them went through numerous changes of dates, formats and locations for their wedding. Thanks Covid! And when they almost settled on an indoor location, the news came in that allowed dancing in outdoor settings! So with only 2 weeks to spare, they decided to move to Hart House! I love that they did it, because it was such a fun party!

I should add that these two not only moved their wedding, they themselves moved to Vancouver from the East Coast during the pandemic! AND they helped out family members by moving another extra couple of times in the period before their wedding. Which in my book makes you two of the kindest people I’ve met! I’m beyond impressed they made the wedding happen (with help from fairy godmothers Hasti and Sara from Lavista Events 😉 ) !

Their day started with a first look and some portraits in the nearby Burnaby Lake Park. Shortly after it was time for the wedding ceremony on the lawn in front of the Hart House Restaurant. Before all the changes, the two of them planned to invite a larger guests list, but thanks to modern technology many people could tune in anyways! Setareh and Eliar arranged a life stream for those who couldn’t make it. Their ceremony included both a Western part and a traditional Persian part, which was led by Setareh’s dad. It’s always extra personal when family members participate in the ceremony. Beautiful!

Thanks to the open sided tent, the reception could take place with plenty of fresh air and … dancing! I’ve always enjoyed dance floors, but they are extra precious to me these days, haha. 😉 The two of them skipped the first dance and decided to party straight away. And what a party it was!
