City Hall wedding in Vancouver: Julie + Justin
Last summer, we photographed Julie and Justin’s City Hall wedding in Vancouver! Despite photographing weddings in Vancouver for all these years, this was our first time in City Hall! Julie, who speaks French as her birth language, chose officiant Beth, from Young, Hip and Married because she’s bilingual too. That way the French in the ceremony was real French (and not “sure, I can speak some French French”). Julie and Justin spoke their vows, accompanied by their daughter Lou. Adorable! 🙂 And at the end of the ceremony, they rang the bell to make sure everyone in the building knew someone tied the knot!
I’m happy Julie and Justin opted for more outdoorsy photos too! On top of checking out the park around city Hall, we visited Spanish Banks together later in the day for photos around sunset. Kudos to the two of them for doing some serious stroller gymnastics, btw! I’m talking carrying it up and down the stairs and the beach. 😉 Of course it was all worth it! I absolutely loved the dramatic sunlight on beach, just stunning! And the forest isn’t far from the beach, so we visited that too.
Congratulations again Julie and Justin! We were honoured to be your witnesses and to be a part of your day!

City Hall wedding in Vancouver: more info
For the longest time, you couldn’t marry City Hall in Vancouver, but since the pandemic, they introduced “Micro weddings”. That means you can bring up to 20 people (photographers and officiant included. Keep in mind that this means you’re basically “renting the room” (in this case the Council Chamber), as you still have to bring your own vendors. Find out more information on how to book and what to expect here.
